Terra Acerba Mellita

Terra acerba mellita,
Set yourself free, undo this earth,
The world needs to see herself.

-K. M. Teoh, 2006 A.D.

We all meet different people in life.

We wake up in the morning, with the windows open
But we never see what is outside, but the inside
We check our teeth, we take our bath, and just off we dart
But we never once, took a moment off, to peek outside
And notice that faint pink patch on heaven's yard

But there is only one that I see in my eyes.

In this morning breeze that blankets thee
There is solemn darkness that covers me
Against this hysterical laugther had I set free
Those tears of thy certainly are not happy

Stop by for a moment these angels who ride above
Through heaven's well down to this black sea
I need you now, for given up have she that I serve
Because on my knees I am, faithfully on you I plea

Above all, there is only one that I will for die.

Shine thy light of wisdom through this tragic soul
Through her eyes of wonder, fill another wonder
And through her heart, make warm the very cold
Thus free her entirely from her pain and anger

That the world will be what it will be and not what it is
The melancholy, bitterness and torment was not meant to be
But the outter shell of something that all fail to see
Which covers the very reward of simply being thee!

1,2 Buckle My Shoe, 3,4 Knock On My Door, 5,6 Pick Up Sticks

Monday- I sat for my Latin and Bio-organic Chemistry tests.
Tuesday- I sat for my Biology test.
Wednesday- I sat for my Anatomy and Histology test.
Thursday- I sat for my Biophysics test.
Total- 6 tests.

At last, I get to inhale some fresh air now. For the past 5 days or so, I had been working day and night (I do mean day and night), like a dog indeed, just to prepare for all these tests! But the good news is that I passed all of them unfortunately I did not get excellent marks for them, but good enough for a test marathon week like this. So I guess the preliminaries are over, soon it will be a non-stop sprint all the way across the finishing line.

Operation Scattered Star

When I was a little boy, about the age of 9, I was elected as the class monitor. It was cool to be a class monitor because I got two girls as my assistants! Although I wasn't really attracted to girls yet at that age, but it was simply fun to run up and down, doing chores for the teachers.

A full 12 years later, I lost all of my friends from the very class I used to lead. After all these years, I decided to attempt one of the most difficult task in the world called Operation Scattered Star.

I found some of my former close friends from the town I used to study in, and here's a brief info about them (names are kept short to protect the individual's privacy):

OPERATION SCATTERED STAR

Objective: To locate all missing former classmates of primary 4.

Equipment: A notebook, Internet connection and Friendster.com.

Procedure:
1. Turn on the notebook.
2. Log into the internet.
3. Log into Friendster.com.
4. Start searching.
5. Record results.

Results:
1. Lisa, 21, currently living in Australia, has got a dog which was dressed like a wizard, an Arien like I am, in a relationship, boyfriend has got a goatee, an Australian Idol Fan.

2. Nick, 21,
currently living in Australia, studying with my former highschool classmate Ky, part-time student and full-time slacker, hobbies include alcohol induced stupidity, loves jazz and swing, loves reading Grisham and still single. (This guy is brilliant)

3. Adrian, 21, a Capricorn, currently living in Abilene, Texas USA. (This guy used to punched my guts! But my bro went after him in school. Haha!)

4. Mei Leng, 20, currently living in Sydney, Australia, in a relationship, was a Rover, loves Finding Nemo and Whose Line Is It Anyway?, a friendly Taurus. (She shifted to Penang too years ago together when I moved)

5. Vivian, 20, still single, a Sagittarian, currently living in Malaysia, studying in International Medical University, enjoys playing the piano.

6. Lynette, 20, currently living in Australia, loves Desperate Housewives (I mean the TV series), listens to Garden State and Snow Patrol, obsessed with Haruki Murakami's works.

7. Shyuan, 20, a Libra, lives in Alberta, Canada, and beautiful. (She was my assistant)

8. I decided to give up.

There are many more out there that I have found but my access to their profile is limited, so I could not really identify if they are my former classmates in primary 4 or not. But as a student of medicine, I am too fond of analysing statistics:

a. 4/7 of my former classmates live in Australia.
b. 6/7 of my former classmates love outside Malaysia.
c. 1/7 of my former classmates met my new highschool friends in Australia.
d. Australia is becoming a the 14th Malaysian state. Who's the new sultan? John Howard? And the state emblem a kangaroo?

Conclusion:
Its nice to find all of them on Friendster. I hope they won't kill me when (and if) they find out that I stole their info and pasted it here. I must sincerely apologise for that. But hey, they don't even know I exist anymore; I guess!

No No Fo' Histo Contro'

I painted the pages with ink
Red, blue, black and pink
Asterisk here, and exclamation there
Highlight here and underline there.

Slowly the hours crept away
Lunch and dinner not today
And so I read and read and read
Even my cup of milk turned bad

Finally the clock stopped ticking
At five I finally started sleeping
But the nightmares came to sight
Chondrocyte and Osteocyte

At the end of the day at Radaev's face
I was weak and my tongue lacked taste
I knew I needed to focus on the issue
And so I said it is connective tissue

But then he stared and glared
Gazed or even dazed
I said excuse me sir
Did you just have beer?

Of course in the end, of course
This story has a definite cause
Like all nightmares there is a dark ending
And so I failed my aftamat still pending.

Dedicated to all students who failed their Histology examination.

The Battle Of Stalingrad

"The Battle of Stalingrad was a major turning point in World War II and is considered the bloodiest battle in recorded human history. The battle was marked by brutality and disregard for military and civilian casualties on both sides. The battle is taken to include the German siege of the southern Russian city of Stalingrad, which is today Volgograd, the battle inside the city, and the Soviet counter-offensive which eventually trapped and destroyed the German Sixth Army and other Axis forces in and around the city. Total casualties for both sides are estimated to be over two million. The Axis powers lost large numbers of men and equipment, and never fully recovered from the defeat. For the Soviets, who also suffered great losses during the battle, the victory at Stalingrad marked the start of the liberation of the Soviet Union, leading to eventual victory over Nazi Germany in 1945. "

Nearly 61 years ago, Russia saved the world.

But today modern Russia is very different from their heroic past. They have lost their good will to fight on. Perhaps they have decided to rest on their laurels. Now their number one enemy is Vodka, the miraculous drink for celebration. But have they not realised the war against social incompetence is more dreadful than the war at Stalingrad? Today the fall of the Russian social system is so vast and grief- the once scientifically advance country is beginning to fall back to a third world society.

A day called as Dyen Pobedi, the Russians commemorate the Battle of Stalingrad, showing their respect to veteran fighters and defenders of their motherland. But despite this so-called victory, behind the march pass, there are still Russian youths out there who are drunk picking a fight with foreigners. The mythical victory, which the world respects Russia for, is no longer meaningful to the new Russian generation. They do not speak of honour and respect. This xenophobic majority youth is becoming a national agenda, but no Russian would admit its existence. As a matter of fact, if not repaired swiftly, the social dual-class system of xenophobic maniacs will collapse, bringing more problems to the Russian macroeconomy. The white-chauvinists or national-chauvinists in Russia and the rest of the world is on a rise, but has any one country openly admit their failure in their social management?

61 years ago Russia saved the world that made everyone kowtowed. Today, they must save themselves. Save the victory day for another day, there will be time for reminiscence in the future but certainly not today.
